Jean Ann was born March 27, 1944 in Rochester to John and Golda (Kirk) Smith and attended Grass Creek Schools. She was in the first class to graduate from Caston in 1961. She married the love of her life, Gene Davis, on July 26, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They shared 36 years of life's adventures together.
Jean Ann had a strong work ethic and devoted 18 years to Switches and another 20 years to Modine, both in Logansport. She was known for her large and frequent garage sales and enjoyed helping people sell items on Ebay. In her spare time, she loved working on puzzles. The Davis garage is full of the beautiful puzzles she and Gene completed together.
Jean Ann was a people person. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Rochester and loved spending time with her best friend Connie. She was a very proud mother and grandmother and was always taking pictures at family gatherings, so she could show them off.
Left to cherish Jean Ann's memory are her husband Gene; two daughters: Tonya Cates and husband Alan of Logansport and Carla Sewell and husband Steve of Francesville; son Darrell Moss and wife Pixie of Cleveland, TN; three grandchildren: Jeremy Cates and wife Amber, Jennifer Dawson and husband Brandon, and Steven Sewell and fiancé Gabriella Acosta; three great-grandchildren: Christian Dawson, Carissa Dawson, and Anna Cates; one great-great-granddaughter, Amaya Osborn-Dawson. Blended family members include stepson Bill Davis and wife Penny; stepdaughters Brenda Chilton and Barb Wagner; and numerous grandchildren.
Jean Ann was preceded in death by her parents and brother Howard Smith.
