Catherine is survived by her children: Jennifer Jones, Karen Aldridge, Sonya Aldridge, Sherwin Purnell Aldridge (Marlene) and Kecia Williams; 14 grandchildren: Javon, Erinn, Amber, Tiffany, Brandon, Christopher, Alicia, Da'Lecia "Lei Lee", Precious, Marcia, Branasia, Tylea, Miracle and Simone; 5 great-grandchildren: Iverson, Kylee, Cameron, Seven and Kadence; ex-husband and friend, Albert Aldridge, Jr.; sister, Clotee "Buttercup" Gaines; brother, Robert Gladney; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Catherine worked at the Dayton VA Medical Center and retired after 18 years of service. She was a faithful and dedicated mother and grandmother. Catherine enjoyed sewing and was an excellent cook who inspired her granddaughter, Lei Lee to pursue a career in culinary arts. She was a God-fearing woman and loved hearing the preached word of God. Catherine was the glue that held her family together.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at United Missionary Baptist Church, 900 Lexington Avenue, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at West Memory Gardens.
