Peoria, IL - Catherine A. "Kitty" McGann Taylor passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Richard Owens Hospice home in Peoria, IL, at the age of 62.

She was born on July 22, 1961, in Peoria IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucille McGann.

Kitty is survived by her brother, John Daniel McGann and his wife, Myra, her son, Derek Randall Wiseman, her granddaughters, Kailyn (Punky) Wiseman and Emmerie Wiseman, her nieces, Heather Huber (Michael) and Megan McGann, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and a great niece and nephew.

Kitty had a vibrant personality and was always the life of the party. She had a great sense of humor, loved to have fun, and had a special talent for telling the most hilarious stories and making everyone around her laugh. Kitty was the epitome of a "foodie". She loved all food and enjoyed eating out. She also had a knack for giving nicknames to everyone she met. Animals held a special place in Kitty's world. She loved all her furry friends and even gave names to squirrels, birds, and such.

Kitty had a kind and compassionate heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. She would light up whenever she talked about her granddaughters.

In her spare time Kitty enjoyed playing softball and riding her beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle. She was an avid Cubs fan and had a not-so-secret crush on Anthony Rizzo. Some of the greatest times of her life were when she went swimming with the dolphins, when she had an alpaca named after her and when she kissed a baby alligator on the lips while visiting friends in Texas.

Kitty attended St. Mark Catholic school for her primary education and later graduated from Manual High School. She went on to have a successful 14-year career, starting at the First National Bank of Peoria.

Her dream job came when she joined the Federal Bureau of Prisons at FCI Pekin as a Federal law enforcement officer. She had to retire in 2001 due to medical reasons but she remained in touch with the co-workers who became her friends.

The McGann family would like to thank Kitty's numerous doctors and medical personnel for their care and assistance over the past 22 years. A special thank you to her home health care worker "Fancy" as well as the amazing staff at Richard Owens Hospice home. Their compassion and care for Kitty was extraordinary. A special thank you also goes to Kitty's close friends who provided around-the-clock support throughout her Hospice stay.

Kitty lived her life bravely and to the fullest even up to her last days. The world would not have been as much fun had she not been here. Until we meet again, we can rest assured knowing she is now in heaven with God, her parents, and relatives who have gone before her, laughing and smiling down upon us.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
