Alida married Charles W Krebs in 1869. They had one son William George Krebs on the 20 April 1871. On 9 August 1884 she was living in New York City and her husband was living in Yokohama Japan on assignment with the navy. The book "In the Service of His Korean Majesty" mentions that from 1885-1887 Charles Krebs was working as a customs bookkeeper in Fuson, Korea. There he opened a small school teaching English. He died in Fuson Korea on 20 April 1887, probably from tuberculosis. On the 1910 census Alida was living with George Mercer. George Mercer died in 1911 leaving his estate to her. She is buried with him in Brookside Cemetery Englewood, NJ.

Her son William George Krebs also joined the navy which took him to Brazil. Where he married Mensa Bogolmosca daughter of Samuel and Kile. According to his US passport application they had a residence in San Francisco, CA in 1924. He died sometime between 1924 and 1931. In 1931 a Santa Rosa newspaper announced that Alida had died and her daughter in law Mensa was widowed and living in Healdsburg, Sonoma, CA.
