She was born on May 28, 1933, to parents John & Freda (Oswalt) Wise in Butler, Ohio. After Dottie graduated from Loudonville High School with the class of 1951, she married James C. Christopher on October 27, 1951. The pair were married for 51 years before Jim's passing away in May of 2003.
Dottie spent many years as a homemaker caring and tending to her family. She was an exceptional baker, known very well for her cookies, peanut butter pies, and making all the family celebration cakes. She also enjoyed crafting and sewing. Dottie was a member of the St. John's Luteran Church in Perrysville, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She is survived by her daughters Vickie L. (Jim) Baker and Jennifer (Felix) Seffens; grandchildren Christopher (Tabitha) Baker, Corbin (Jennifer) Baker, Courtney (Chelsie) Seffens, and Dorothy (Todd) 0'Brien; great grandchildren Chloe, Cohen, and Kendalynn Baker, Trey Baker, Gannon, Marley, and Brinley O'Brien, and Clare, Garin, and Beatrice Seffens; and her brother-in-law Weldon Edmondson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James C. Christopher; great granddaughter Chenadi Marie Baker; and sisters Joanne Edmondson and Vertabelle (Paul) Goosens.
A graveside service to celebrate Dottie's life will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery, Perrysville with Pastor Kenneth Curren officiating.
