Joyce Margaret Swanson, 82, of Cambridge, MN, passed away on Tues, Nov 7, 2023, at Ecumen in North Branch, MN. She was born Jan 9, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN, to Robert and Ethel (Olson) Abrahamson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Vern Abrahamson; and sister: Delores Oslund. Joyce grew up on the family farm in Isanti County, attended country school and graduated from Cambridge High School in in 1959. On Jul 18, 1959 ,she was united in marriage to Robert Swanson at Faith Lutheran Church in Isanti, MN. They raised three sons, living in the Anoka , MN, and the Isanti County, MN, area. She was a longtime member of Constance Evangelical Free Church where she was active as a Sunday School teacher and superintendent, youth group leader, a greeter, and was involved with the choir and worship team. Music was a large part of Joyce's life; she, along with her sisters: Delores and Mary – sang together as the Abrahamson Sisters since the early 1960's. Joyce even wrote some of songs that they performed. Joyce had an extreme passion for animals, which was learned as young girl growing up on the farm. Joyce is survived by her husband: Bob; sons: Tony Swanson, Jeff (Jane) Swanson, all of Cambridge, Jim (Heidi) Swanson of Grasston, MN; three grandchildren: Anna, Amber and Christian Swanson; sister: Mary Falk of Cambridge, many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Private graveside services will be held at Fridsborg Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held in Jan, 2024. Details will be posted when available.
