Debi Diane (Aanenson) Pyers, 71, passed away from ovarian cancer on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at her home in Daytona Beach, Florida. She was surrounded by her family during her final days on earth.

Debi was predeceased by her parents, Quentin and Jackie Aanenson. She is survived by her husband Tom Pyers, children Brett Pyers and Shanna (Brian) Bacher, grandchildren Annette and James Bacher, and siblings Vicki (Harry) Murphy and Jerry (Ann) Aanenson.

Debi was born in Louisiana and raised in Bethesda, Maryland. She graduated from Walt Whitman High School in 1969 and attended college at the University of South Carolina. In 1976, Debi moved to Illinois, where she was stationed as a flight attendant for United Airlines. It was in Illinois where she met her husband of 40 years, Tom Pyers. Debi continued to work as a flight attendant until 1988, when she retired so that she could be the best stay-at-home mom to her children, Shanna and Brett. She worked as a lunch mom at the local elementary school and volunteered her time to her community, including a shelter for rescued cats.

In 2019, Debi and Tom moved to their dream home in Daytona Beach, Florida, where they were surrounded by an amazing community of friends, laughter, and fun. Debi will be remembered by her incredible smile and love for others. Even when sick, she painted "kindness rocks" that she delivered and brought joy to strangers in her community. She loved her 60's music and dancing in the kitchen.

She will be fiercely missed.

A funeral service will be held for Debi Pyers on Sunday, July 17 at 11 a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond, 733 W. Granada Blvd., Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
