Funeral service for James A. "Buddy" Sasser, 90, will be Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro. Tim Patrick officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Valhermoso Holiness Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at Valhermoso Holiness Church.

Mr. Sasser died on Friday, November 10, 2023 at his residence. He was born November 6, 1933, in Limestone County, to James Earvin Sasser and Lovie Ann Patterson.

He was employed as a Butcher for Winn Dixie, prior to his retirement. He was a loving husband and father and was the song leader at Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church for well over 50 years. He loved to sing, hunt and fish and lived for the Lord for 72 years. He considered living for Him as his greatest treasure. Mr. Sasser was a 50 year Mason and served as Past Master of Somerville Lodge 721, where he served as Junior Grand Steward twice in his 50 years.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Earvin and Lovie Sasser, two sisters, Mildred Brown and Lucy Davis and a brother, Eldrage Sasser.
