Death of Early Resident.

W.F.M. Lacey Died Tuesday Morning at Eureka - Aged 74.

W.F.M. Lacey one of the early settlers of Cowley county died Tuesday morning, September 15th, 1914, at his home in Eureka, after a lingering illness, having suffered a stroke of paralysis five years ago.

Mr. Lacey was seventy-four years of age. He came to Kansas in '69 and settled in Fairview township, one mile south of Akron, where he lived until eighteen years ago when he went to Longton to reside. From there he removed to Eureka where he resided until his death.

He was a brother-in-law of Abe Steinberger, editor of the Telegram, a daily newspaper published here in the early days.

He is survived by three children, Hobart Lacey, of Corbin, Mrs. Nettie Hanlen of Phoenix, Arizona; and Miss Fay Lacey, a niece in Kansas City.

Burial will be made in the Akron cemetery beside his wife who died a number of years ago.
