On November 12, 2023, the world lost a proud veteran, devoted father, and cherished friend, Mr. Benny Hampton Cartrett, at the age of 84.

Benny passed away at Concord Place, surrounded by his loving family.

Benny was born on June 12, 1939, in Robeson Co., to the late Pearlie Bright Simmons Cartrett and John Oliver Cartrett.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Billy Bright Cartrett, Bobby Jay Cartrett, Murray Cartrett, Frankie Cartrett, and sisters, Grace Wishon, Eva Beame, Gladys Strickland, Hazel Dyson, and Denzil Lovett.

Benny was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, honorably serving from 1962 to 1965.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at West Concord Cemetery. Prior to the service, friends and family are invited to gather and share their memories from 11:30 am-12:45 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081, or to W.G.
