On November 9, 2022, Carmen Matilde Maldonado passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by her loving family and music. She was born on February 11, 1946, in Ponce Puerto Rico to Tomas Maldonado and Luz Palmira Rivera. The eighth of twelve siblings, Matilde was beloved by her large extended family for her endless kindness and compassion. Everyone who met her loved her instantly. Beautiful inside and out, she was the most incredible mother and grandmother, a hard worker, provider, and counselor. Above all, she taught her children Jose A. Marrero, Jorge G. Marrero, and Carmen V. Marrero to love God. Her children and husband, Enereldo Martinez will celebrate her life on Tuesday, November 15, at 11:00 am at Evergreen Funeral Home at 4535 Main Street in Jacksonville. A visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to the service.
