Gary Eugene Beckett, 74, of Huntington, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar, WV. Gary was born on August 13, 1949 in Kanawha County, W.Va. the son of the late Raymond Richard and Juanita Francis Tomblin Beckett. Gary was an usher and worked in security at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church. He was a member of prison fellowship ministry having ministered in Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. He ran a clothing ministry for the recovery community. He recently had 30 years of sobriety and was a member of AA. He was a general contractor. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Sue "Susie" Beckett; five children, David Richard (Carol) Beckett, Michelle Nichole Beckett Sites, Johnathan (Jacey Mahan) Beckett, Chad Edward Beckett of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Hannah (Billy Vance) Donahue; three grandchildren, Shayla (Jay) Cox, Christopher Beckett, Hayden Bradley Beckett of Berea, K.Y.; three great grandchildren, Jackson Milam, Charlotte Jaye Cox, and Reagan Cox; two sisters, Sherry Blake and Debbie Rickman; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 10 am until service time on Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Reger Funeral Home.
