Charles Angus McBain passed away on October 16, 2023, in Santa Cruz, California. He was 90.

Charles was born on March 4, 1933, in San Jose, California to his parents, Gladys Rowe McBain and Frank E. McBain, Sr.

Charles grew up in San Jose and Campbell. He attended Orchard Grammer School, Horace Mann in San Jose, Campbell Grammer School and Campbell High School where he excelled in football, track and field and wrestling.

Charles served in the National Guard and the United States Army.

Charles worked in many capacities throughout his career. He learned to build homes from his dad and built several. He worked for PG&E. He opened a liquor store in Santa Cruz with his brother Bob. He also worked for the California Agricultural Inspection Service.

Charles was an avid traveler as he enjoyed many trips throughout his life. Mexico and Ireland were two of his favorites. His last trip was to Ireland with his nephew Chris.

Charles never married, but never lacked company as he had many nieces and nephews along with other family members to spend time with. He was a resident of Santa Cruz.

Charles is survived by his sister [Living] and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Harriet LaMoure, Frank McBain, Jr., John McBain and Robert (Bob) McBain.
