Samuel "Sam" Eugene Lester, Jr., 58, Johnson City, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023, at Johnson City Medical Center, following a five year battle with cancer.
Sam was born in Bluefield, WV to Samuel Lester, Sr. and Norma Jean Witt Earhart.
Sam was previously employed by Siemens where he happily worked in tech support. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and a proud U.S. Marine veteran.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jerry Earhart.
In addition to his parents, Sam was survived by: his devoted wife of 30 years, Debi Lester; five children, Julianne Hamiker, Charlii Moorer, Daniel Lester, Jessica Phillips and Samantha Lester; 17 grandchildren, Mckinzie, Airyonna, Robert, Deziray, Logan, Abigail, Jordyn, Jazmyn, Eli, Gabriel, Xavier, Lyreal, Adyn, Madalyn, Alex and a great grandchild on the way; two sisters, Sherry and her husband Tom and Connie and her husband Bobby; and seven dogs and one cat.
Sam's family will receive friends from 5 PM until 6 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 6 PM with Pastor Richard Long officiating. A private committal service will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery.
