Biological son of Maud Hymas. Adopted by grandparents.

Orson William Hymas (O.W.), 81, born Nov. 8, 1930 in Liberty, Idaho, to Orson and Emma Hymas, passed away March 23, 2012 at the Bear Lake Memorial Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier.

O.W. spent his young years on a ranch in Liberty and attended schools in the Bear Lake Valley, after which he joined the army and was stationed in Germany. Upon returning from service he met and married Elaine Haddock. Together they had three children, two daughters, Cindy and Patricia, and a son, Kim. Later they divorced and he married Marie Hymas, and they lived in Ogden where he worked in construction. Eventually they returned to Bear Lake and he worked for Dennis and Roger Hunker on their ranch. He also spent a lot of time with Dr. James Costello taking care of animals.

O.W. enjoyed the great outdoors, ranching, fishing, hunting and taking long drives around the countryside and in the mountains. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a High Priest when he passed away. He loved his family and enjoyed his granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

O.W. was preceded in death by his parents, Orson and Emma, four brothers, six sisters, wife Marie, and daughters, Cindy and Patricia. He is survived by his son, Kim (Kathy) Hymas, one sister, Phyllis, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who love and miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 2 at the Montpelier Second Ward LDS Church at noon. Friends may call prior to services from 11 to 11:45 a.m.
