John Leroy Carter, 49, husband of Mrs. May Meixel Carter, and son of the late John Edward and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth McLaughlin Carter, died at 5:15 a.m. yesterday at a local hospital. Mr. Carter, assistant cashier of the C. & O. Railway, was a native of Perth Amboy, N.J., and had been a resident of Norfolk for 35 years, residing at 517 Delaware Ave at the time of his death. Besides his wife, Mrs. May Meixel Carter, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. C. W. Pollard, Jr. and Miss Carol Mae Carter, and two grandchildren, all of Norfolk. The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, of which he was a member, for services Monday at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
