"MRS. VELA BYRNE
Services for Mrs. Vela Byrne, who died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F.W. McGee, 436 Wood street southeast, were conducted Monday afternoon at the McMillan cemetery by the Rev. J.D. Stout, Carter Avenue Methodist church.

Mrs. Byrne was the widow of T.T. Byrne, who died Nov. 25, 1925. This was the wedding anniversary of the couple. Both died on the same day nine years apart.

Born in Kentuckytown, Texas, May 13, 1863, Mrs. Byrne had lived in Ardmore and Carter county many years.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. McGee with whom she lived and B.E. Beasley, Ardmore, and Mrs. J.R. Damron, Tulsa; a son, R.B. Byrne, Ardmore, and a sister, Mrs. E.Z. Williams, Hamlin, Texas. Also 11 grandchildren including R.B. Byrne Jr., whom she reared from infancy, and seven great-grandchildren.

The burial in McMillan cemetery was directed by Bettes funeral home.

David Maynard, Todd Woods, Granville Byrne, R.B. Byrne Jr., Edward Odom and W.T. Roberts were pallbearers."
