Jimmy D. Armstrong, age 90, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He was born in New Hebron, Mississippi on June 30, 1933, to the late Dewitt Armstrong and Mary Purnice Dorosity Armstrong.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his children, Terry Armstrong and Sheila Armstrong Tinsley; brother, Marshall Keith Armstrong; great grandson, Jonathan Armstrong.

He was a retired truck driver for Frito Lay, a police officer during the 1950's, a member of the Shawnee Lodge #830 F&AM and played for the Mississippi Bulldogs football team.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Betty Mae Belew Armstrong; grandchildren, Angie Yost (Larry), Shannon Armstrong-Patrick, Matthew Armstrong (Angel), Jamie Armstrong, Nicole Armstrong Fickas (Tony), Caitlin Tschanz (Ben) and Jeff Tinsley (Stephanie); fourteen great grandchildren; twelve great-great grandchildren; cousin, Robert Malley and a host of other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 am on Monday, November 26, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 2-8 pm and Monday from 9 am until time of the service at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held at 6:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
