Jemima "Ann" Abel

Ann Abel, 91, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2023. She was born Jemima Mathews on April 10, 1932 in the town of Manvel, Texas of Brazoria County to William and Mattie Edna Mathews. Ann was the youngest of 12 children.
Mattie (Ann's Mother) passed during Ann's birth and Ann was raised by her Aunt Pat, who was lovingly referred to as Big Momma.
Ann had three children - Constance "Connie", Robert and Elizabeth Ann "Becky" and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. Her children and grands still speak of her Warm Milk Cake and peanut brittle. Some of her notions were worn by her granddaughters and even earned awards in pageants. Ann was also an avid reader. She especially loved westerns by Louis L'Amour. Ann had a competitive spirit and was a trying force at a game of dominoes, canasta or a good debate.
Ann is proceeded in death by the love of her life, Charlie Abel, by whom she will join alongside in burial.
