Alan Ralph Pryor, 77, of Paden City, WV, passed away on November 23, 2023 at the Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Martinsville, WV.

Alan was born on May 8, 1946 in Newport News, VA, to the late Alan and Jane (Fox) Pryor.

Alan graduated from Paden City High School in 1964 and then attended Morehead State University on a football scholarship. Thereafter, he entered into the US Navy and served four years aboard the USS Rushmore. Alan then went to work for the Consolidated Coal Co. at the McElroy coalmine and retired after thirty-five years. Alan enjoyed lawnwork, hunting, golfing, and was a passionate sports fan. He especially loved to watch his granddaughters play softball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Cathy (Smittle) Pryor, sister, Lynn Kluver, and brother-in-law's, Larry Potts and Steve Billeter.

Surviving is his sister, Shelia Potts of Paden City, WV; daughter, Teresa Kim Goots (Joe) of Parkersburg, WV; and granddaughters, Mallory (fiancé, Adam McCray) Goots and Kelsey Goots, both of Parkersburg, WV.

Friends will be received 3:00-7:00pm, Tuesday, November 28th at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City. Interment will be in Paden Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family.
