Jean L. Robinson, age 95, of Council Bluffs, passed away October 31, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Jean Lou to Clyde and Ruth Adamson on March 20th, 1928 in Melbeta, Nebraska. She had an older sister, Ann, and a younger brother, Dennis. She grew up in Council Bluffs, IA and passed away not far from where she was born; a true full circle moment. Through grade school (although she did not know it yet) she would meet her future husband, Richard "Butch" Robinson. She was walking home years later with a sack full of groceries when Butch saw her and thought she was the prettiest thing he had ever seen. From that moment on, their love story was history. They went on to marry on December 19, 1947 and had 4 kids -- Rick, Cindy, Debbie, and Sandy, along with multiple grandchildren (such as myself).

Speaking as her granddaughter, I can say without a doubt that Grandma was the most selfless, giving, no-fuss person you would ever meet (and she would have to be being married to stubborn Grandpa). We would often say she is quite literally a saint on earth and I believe that even more so now as I know she is in heaven. She was a wife, homemaker, mother, and a businesswoman keeping all the books for Robinson Construction. Once becoming a mother, however, you could tell that that was her greatest joy. She would be the shoulder to cry on, the best French toast maker in the world, and had the sweetest smile always to give, even in her last days.

Probably one of the most memorable things about Grandma to those who knew her was her fierce love for Grandpa. Theirs is a love that is rare and something we ALL strive for. Together for 73 years, never leaving each other's side through raising a family, running a business, cancer, replaced knee, broken ankle in a foreign country and the like. Even so far into their marriage something that always stood out to me was their touch; whether that be holding hands, a peck on the lips, or just a hand on the leg. They were each other's true north.

After Grandpa passed almost 3 years ago, we all thought how excited he must be for her to join him to give her a hug, a big smooch and to hold her hand and never let go.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Butch in 2020; sister, Ann Wiatt and brother, Dennis Adamson.

Jean is survived by her children, Rick (Alice) Robinson, Cindy (Kurt) Falkenhainer, Debora (John) Scanlan, Sandy (Rocky) Saar; 10 grandchildren,14 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral service, Friday, 11:00 a.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Interment Walnut Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
