William Donnie Ashley, age 78 of Elora, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2023, at St. Thomas-West in Nashville. He was born in Jackson County, Tennessee on July 19, 1945, to the late Harvey Ray and Sadie Lou (Brewer) Ashley. He was the owner and operator of Ashley Pallet and Freight. In his spare time, William enjoyed fishing, golfing, and pleasure riding, as well as watching Fox News. But most of all, he cherished the time spent with his beloved family, especially their family travels. He was a member of The Church of Jesus in New Market, Alabama. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Ashley. William is survived by his daughter, Kim Kelley; grandchildren, Cody Cornelius, and Caitlyn Cornelius; great-grandchildren, Sophia Shelly, and Carter Cornelius; siblings, Carolyn (Ray) Davis, Janice (Barry) Green, Betty (Lynn) Richardson, Lynn (Wyman) Prince, Davie (Margaret) Ashley, Lester (Betty) Ashley, and Larry (Donna) Ashley; special friend, Linda Ashley; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Sister Carol Holt officiating.
