Levi Walker, better known as Chief Noc-a-homa the Atlanta Braves mascot who represented the professional baseball team from 1968 through 1985. He was a Michigan native and a member of the Odawa Nation. Mr. Walker said in an interview that 'I think Indians can be proud that their names are used with professional sports teams.' He was released from the Atlanta Braves in 1986 reportedly over a dispute regarding pay and missed dates. He said: 'He was blessed by the fans to be the mascot for the Atlanta Braves.'
