Rosemary was born to Fred and Anna Smith in DeKoven, Ky., on Nov. 26, 1928. She went to school in Kentucky and married John L. Berry in 1948. John and Rosemary moved to Charleston, S.C., in 1951, where she managed the Remington Rand Agency. After this she went to work for the Army Depot and then the Charleston Navy Yard and retired as a senior manager in the Charleston Navy Hospital. Rosemary moved to Niceville, Fla., in 1995 to be close to her family. She was an active member of Niceville United Methodist Church and volunteered on several committees.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; and is survived by her daughter, Davia Stalnaker; son-in-law, Jerry Stalnaker; grandson, Zack Stalnaker and his wife, Jessie, and their two children, Asher and Romie. They reside in Jacksonville, Fla. She is also survived by her grandson, Jake, and his children, Caleb, Kate, Zeke and Ella, who all live in Niceville. Rosie, as she was affectionately called, is also survived by her sister, Freddie Flaks, her husband, Ken, and their children, John, Suzanne, Julie and David. Everyone who knew Rosie loved her very much. She was especially close to all her great-grandchildren. They will miss her.
