James McMahon

Age 91, of Morris and formerly Romeoville, Crest Hill, and Chicago, IL, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL.

He married the love of his life, Yvette Paquette in Chicago in 1953. After he was honorably discharged from the Air Force at the conclusion of the Korean War, they resided in New Hampshire for a short time and then returned to Illinois where they raised their family. Mr. McMahon was a longtime employee of the Chicago Tribune.

Yvette and James were members of the YMCA. They enjoyed exercising there with friends and oftentimes would meet up with them at R-Place to visit and dine together.

Preceded in death by his wife, Yvette on August 4, 2023; his parents, Bernice (Smurawski) and John R. McMahon; grandson, Michael A. Berard, and son-in-law, Michael E. Berard.

As it was James' wish, cremation rites have been accorded and his final earthly remains will be interred with those of his beloved wife, Yvette at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
