Barbara Mergner, 82, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at home in South Plainfield.
Born and raised in East Orange, Barbara settled in Piscataway 60 years ago where she was also a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Piscataway.
An avid bowler, Barbara was a longtime member of the Somerset-Hunterdon USBC Bowling Association and in 2012 was bestowed the honor of being inducted into the Women's Bowling Hall of Fame.
Barbara was employed at I.E.E.E in Piscataway as a Member Services Representative for nearly 20 years prior to her retirement in 2016.
In addition, she was a longtime poll worker for the Middlesex County Board of Elections.
Predeceased by her late husband, Robert G. (Bob) and brother, John LeGates, Barbara is survived by her four children; Robert K. Mergner, Kathy Currao and her husband, Bob, Karen A. Mergner and her partner Frank, and Donna Lusinger and her fiancé Todd; sisters, Mary LeGates and Patricia Stuparich and her husband Joe, brother, Frank LeGates, also surviving is a sister in-law, Janine LeGates and five grandchildren; Vincent, Devan & Kailey Currao and Christopher & Katelyn Lusinger.
Barbara will be laid to rest alongside her husband Robert G. (Bob) at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway
