Death of Andrew K. Murray, a Pioneer, Last Evening.
__At 6 o'clock last evening occurred the death of Andrew Keachie Murray, an honored pioneer of the county and city, at the family residence, 623 South Fourth street west. the funeral will be held from the home at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon, Rev. A. R. Paul of the First United Presbyterian church officiating: interment at Linwood.
__Andrew K. Murray was born in Montgomery county, New York, November 10, 1813 and his ancestors were among the sturdy pioneers who helped fight the battles and make the history of the thirteen original colonies. His grandfather fought in the war of the revolution. Mr. Murray located in Linn county in 1868, and for some years was engaged in agricultural pursuits. For many years he has resided in this city, in a most comfortable home. Besides his wife there survives him four sons, A. Gordon, Edward M., Dr. Fred G., all of Chicago, and Rev. David A. of Ottumwa; also two daughters; Agnes, who resides at home, and Mrs. Dr. E. L. Hawes of Mankato, Minn. The deceased was a man of Splendid character, honored by all who knew him.

Mr. Murray was born in Montgomery county, New York, November 10, 1813, and moved with his family, to this city in 1868. He farmed for some years, but of late had retired from active life. During his life in this city he had been actively identified with the United Presbyterian church. Besides his wife there survives him four sons, A. Gordon, Edward M., Dr. Frederick, all of Chicago, and Rev. David A., of Ottumwa; also two daughters, Agnes, who resides at home and Mrs. Sarella Hawes of Mankato, Minn. The funeral announcements will be made later. He was one of the oldest and best known residents of Cedar Rapids, a highly respected and esteemed man.
