Merritt W. Lyle, 81, who spent a lifetime farming near Deckerville and Capac, died Wednesday in Lapeer County General Hospital after a long illness.
He was born June 19, 1884 near Deckerville. He lived at 15425 Bryce Road in recent years. His wife, Ethel, died Nov. 4, 1957.
Mr. Lyle is survived by two sons. Charles, Capac. and William, Detroit; two daughters Mrs. Ruth Tamba and Mrs. Helen Blumerich, both of Capac, and two sisters, Mrs. Vernice Michon, Detroit, and Mrs. Lena Shaw, of Florida.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday in Barnard Funeral Home. Rev. John Hitchens, pastor of the Evangelical United Brethren Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Capac Cemetery.
