Roy A. Adkins, 89, of Dellasburg Road died at 6:14 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Mr. Adkins was former parts manager at Jim Hamilton Volkswagen and Columbus Auto Supply. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church, a past member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and a founding member of Clay Township Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed IU basketball.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Norm Knorr officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until service time Friday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Cheer Fund or Sandy Hook United Methodist Church.

Born in Martinsville Sept. 9, 1916, Mr. Adkins was the son of Benjamin and Dean Long Adkins. He married Lillian June Andrews Sept. 3, 1955.
Survivors include sons, John Adkins of Columbus and James Adkins of Florida; a daughter, Betty Ann Billingsley of Hope; brothers, Marvin Adkins of Columbus and Charles Adkins of Bloomington; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Sept. 19, 1996; a brother, the Rev. Ralph Adkins; and a sister, Edith Dixon.
