Mr. Shelby was born in Duck River, TN to the late Anderson Brown and Annie Sue Totty Shelby. He was a retiree of Morristown Water and Power, where he was the Water Works Superintendent. He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII and was a member of the Centerville Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Sue Shelby and his son-in-law, David Brook Howard. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Jane "Janie" Jenkins Shelby of Centerville; daughter, Joyce S. Howard and granddaughter, Monica L. Howard, both of Hermitage, TN; and sister, Mary Sue McAlister of Nashville.
