Sam was born Aug. 17, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, daughter of Woodrow Wilson Zinn and Mildred Elizabeth Stockmier Zinn. She moved to the area in 1970, coming from Dallas. She married Virgil Dickey in 1972 in Dallas. She owned and operated Word of Faith Christian Bookstore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son Richard Stanfield.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil; daughters Tammy Bean and Dennie Alman, of Kirbyville; brothers Veskar Zinn, of Tuscon, Ariz., Steven Vanderslice, of Petty, Texas; sister Marilyn Pearson, of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
