Patricia A. Later, age 91, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2023, in Seymour, Indiana, her home after a life rich in family and community connections in Vincennes. Born on April 1, 1932, in Vincennes, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Christopher and Lovina (Richardville) Kotter. Patricia's life was one of dedication, love, and steadfast faith, reflected in her longstanding marriage to the late Dean Later after their union at St. Thomas Catholic Church on November 17, 1951.

Patricia's memory will be held dear by her loving family, including her children, Deborah Frey (Dennis) of Seymour, Frank Later (Sarah) of Anderson, Christopher Dean Later (Patricia) of Washington along with her daughter-in-law, Cindy (Later) Russel, wife of the late Stephen Later" of Vincennes. She was a beacon of joy in the lives of her grandchildren Nathan Frey, Ryan Frey, Patrick Frey, Aaron Frey, Stephanie Latta, Keith Later, Kristen Stout, Alicia O'Maley, and Erica Hill, as well as her seventeen great-grandchildren. Her sister, Carolyn Pohl of Vincennes, also survives her. Patricia's legacy extends beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her.

With a sorrowful heart, we recognize that Patricia was preceded in death not only by her husband, Dean, but also by her beloved sons, Edward and Stephen Later, a cherished grandson, Nicholas Later, and her dear siblings, Norman, Herbert, Ralph, James, Bob Kotter, Janet Perry, and Linda Kotter.

Patricia's role as a devoted homemaker was the cornerstone of her life, evident in her joy of spending time with her family. She was an active member of her community, where her faith guided her service through the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, St. Thomas Alter Society, and her dedicated participation on the St. Thomas Parish Council, where she served two terms. Her inexhaustible involvement in the church was one of the many ways she expressed her commitment to her beliefs and her community.

The void left by Patricia's departure is immense, yet her spirit and the love she fostered in her family and community will continue to inspire and guide those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on earth may have ended, but the impact of her generous heart and unwavering commitment to her loved ones will resonate for generations to come.
