Fordie C. Smith, 85, of Lily, Kentucky, passed away on July 26, 2015. Fordie was born December 30, 1929 in Blackwater, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Willie Smith and Lilly (Taylor) Smith.
To cherish his memory he leaves two sons; Keith Smith and Brad Smith, one daughter; Norma Prentice, one brother; Willie Smith, one sister; Maggie Hopkins, and two grandchildren; James Prentice and Lisa Prentice Hester.
Fordie was preceded in death by his wife; Jessie Sasser Smith, his parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
Interment will take place at Michigan Memorial Park.

He leaves behind three children, Norma Prentice, and Keith and Brad Smith, all of Michigan; one sister, Maggie Hopkins of Blackwater; one brother, Willie Smith of Indiana; two grandchildren, James Prentice and Lisa Prentice Hester, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie Sasser Smith; parents, Willie & Lilly Smith and nine brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends after 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28 at House-Rawlings Funeral Home. An additional visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 29, also after 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services for Fordie Smith will be conducted at a later date at Crane Funeral Home in Romulus, Michigan. House-Rawlings Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
