Linda Joyce Finch Powell, 82, of 517 E. Buford Street, Gaffney, S.C. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 at her residence.
Born in Spartanburg, S.C. she was the widow of the late Wilson Nathan Powell and daughter of the late Howard Finch and Annie Mae Fortune Finch.
She was a graduate of Cowpens High School, retired from Timken after 40 years of service, and was a member of New Harvest Church of God.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Timothy Powell and Eric Powell; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Powell and Layla Stanton; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Powell of Gaffney; a sister Hazel Patton of Alabama.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Eugene Powell, and seven brothers, Carroll Finch, Ronnie Finch, Bobby Finch, Jerry Finch, John Finch, Robert Finch and Norman Finch, and two sisters, Patricia Finch (infant) and Elizabeth Crocker.
The family would like to extend special thanks to caregiver Myla Gault.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Wells officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: New Harvest Church of God, 120 Boiling Springs Highway, Gaffney, S.C. 29341.
The family will be at their respective homes.
