Talkeetna resident Elnora Yvonne Marazzo, 51, died of lung failure due to scleroderma March 3, 1995, at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, surrounded by family and friends. A memorial service was at VFW Post 9978 in Anchorage.

Mrs. Marazzo was born April 27, 1943, in Kodiak. She completed 11th grade and moved to Anchorage in 1979, where she lived for about seven years. She moved to Talkeetna during the early 1980s. In Anchorage, she had been a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary since 1981. She transferred her VFW membership when she moved to Talkeetna. Mrs. Marazzo formerly managed and bartended at several places around Alaska, including VFW Post 9978, until illness forced her to retire. Her family said: "Mom was the best bartender in Alaska. She bartended all over the state. Mom loved people, barbecues, get-togethers, camping and fishing. Our mother was a very unselfish, caring, loving and giving person. She cared about the needy and would give her last dollar to help someone. We will miss her more than words can ever say."

Mrs. Marazzo is survived by her mother, Beulah Dean of Anchorage; father, Robert Dean of South Dakota; sister, Sharon Rust of Minnesota; brother, Robert Dean of Minnesota; sons, Fred Dean of Minnesota, Scott Marazzo of Minnesota, Bill Marazzo of Arizona; daughters, Dot Fitzgerald of Washington state, and Mary McKay of Washington state; and 12 grandchildren. She also had twin girls who died at birth in 1965. Mrs. Marazzo's ashes were spread in Kodiak. Arrangements were handled by American Memorial Association in Renton, Wash.
