Services for MRS. BERTHA ELLEN CORRIDON were held from the Baptist church at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 31, with Rev. W. W. Pierce, pastor of Wyatt Park Baptist Church of St. Joseph officiating. Mrs. Corridon has been a member since she left Lathrop about three years ago. Mrs. Harold Walker sang beautifully "Abide With Me" and "In the Garden". Mrs. Claude Sellars accompanied her. Pallbearers were Homer Williams, C. J. Bussjaeyr, Robert Myers, G. A. Douglass, J. A. Beavers, J. B. Cuneoxy, K. C. Raydon and Red Wade. All but Mr. Wade were men from the Missouri Highway Department. Mr. Wade was a neighbor of Mr. and Mrs. Corridon. Flower girls were Misses Phyllis Boyle, Myrna Lee Hall, Mary Sue Silvius of Lathrop and Misses Helen Stealy, Nancy Hayes and Gloria Richardson of St. Joseph, Missouri.
Bertha Ellen (Batneau / Batman) Corridon was born on October 15, 1892 and died on March 28, 1950 in Missouri Methodist Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri. Mrs. Corridon accepted Christ in her young life and lived a Christian throughout her short life. She was a devoted mother, wife and a loyal neighbor.
Mrs. Corridon was married to Claue E. Canaday in 1912 and to this union one son, Maxen K. Canaday, was born. Mr. Canaday died on Nov. 17, 1924. Mrs. Corridon then married M. P. Corridon in June 1929, and to this union two daughters were born. A baby died at birth, and Patricia Ann survives.
Mrs. Corridon's survivors are: Mrs. Fred Ferguson, Mrs. Wade Cravens, of Grant City, Missouri, Mrs. Mont Trump of Worth, Missouri, Mrs. Maude Evans, Miss Mildred Batman, Oregon, Missouri, Mr. Lowell Batman, Torrington, Wyoming, Mr. M. P. Corridon and Patricia Ann of the home, 2407 Farson Street, St. Joseph, Missouri, Maxen K. Canaday, one grandson, Jack Allen Canaday, Lathrop, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews, neighbors and friends who mourn her passing.
