She had ten siblings that included six brothers and four sisters. She was a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and godmother. She was also the granddaughter of Chief Milk and Chief Red Cloud.
She was an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe.
Ada attended Lake Andes and Rosebud Boarding School, then attended Mitchell Area Vocational Tech and graduated in 1975 in Culinary Arts. She also attended school for cosmetology and worked at the Box Factory earlier. She worked at Bub's and Sacred Heart Hospital and retired there after 27 years.
Some of her favorite pastimes were traveling, casinos, wacipis, playing cards, spending time with grandchildren. She was an active member of the Episcopal church.
Ada is survived by her special friend Carl Sam Necklace; brother, Larry Milk of Wagner and children Vivian Milk, Myron Milk of Yankton, and grandchildren Arrione, Cody, Vanessa, John, Lee, Thomas, Mataya, Matthew, Morgan, Mason; great-grandchildren Tayohn, Tiahanna, Kayden and Jaelyn Ada.
She is preceded in death by both parents, Albert and Elizabeth (Kiyukan) Milk; brothers Gordon Milk, Harvey Milk, Vernon Milk and sisters Alcesta Milk, Verada Milk and Martha (Milk) Gray; great-grandchildren Michael Dean and Jordan Michael.
Ada will be greatly missed by all her family, friends and relatives.
Memorial services were Monday at Christ Episcopal Church at 7 p.m. with Father Pearson. Her ashes will then be taken back home to Milk's Camp.
Wake services are at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Milk's Camp Community Center.
Her funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Milk's Camp Community Center. Officiating will be Pat Whitehorse.
Pallbearers are Myron, Cody, John and Lee. Honorary pallbearers are all her family, relatives and friends.
