H. Maxine Heck, 97, of Aledo, died Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Aledo Health and Rehab Center. Services were 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial was in the Aledo Cemetery. Visitation was 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home where memorials may be left to the Aledo Health and Rehab Center or to the Mercer County VFW Post #1571. She was born Aug. 27, 1910 southwest of Aledo, a daughter of Fred and Ethel Young Greer. She received her education from Fox River Academy in Sheridan, and was united in marriage to Donnie Heck June 13, 1929 in Davenport, Iowa. He died July 28, 1998.
She was a homemaker and a former member of the Joy Band.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna Beede of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Ethel Carlson of Galesburg and Janet (Edward) Rader of Sun Prairie, Wis.; one son, Harold "Spike" (Nancy) Heck of Aledo; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Marvin "Kenny" Heck, a daughter and son-in-law, Fay and Elvin Gustafson and one sister, Bernice Wood.
