Aged Lady Had Passed Greater Part of Lifetime in Cass County – Funeral Held Today.
Summary
Mrs. Allie Adams, 81, who has been an invalid for a period of years, died Saturday (29 Oct) evening at her home on N 7th St, where she has lived for the past 20 years.
Allie Henton was brought to Cass Co. by her parents from Indiana and was brought up in this community. She married J. H. Adams where they farmed west of Mynard and moved into town 20 years ago.
Mrs. Adams was the last of her own immediate family, husband, brothers and sisters preceding her in death. Surviving are several nieces and nephews: Mrs. W. R. Young, Harry Henton of this city, Fred Henton of St. Joseph, MO, Frank H Johnson, A. G. Johnson of Lincoln, Jay Johnson of St. Joseph, MO, Mrs. J. W. Chapman of Prosser, WA, Bert Henton of St. Joseph, MO, Mrs. Fred Card, Mrs. Reg. Preston of Lyman, NE, John Sneed of South Sioux City, NE.
Services were this afternoon from the Horton funeral home, with Dr. H. G. McClusky pastor of First Presbyterian church who paying tribute to the highly esteemed lady along with Rev. J. W. Taenzler of the First Christian Church. Interment was at the Horning Cemetery south of this city where other members of her family are at rest.
Pall bearers were selected from old friends and neighbors: A. A. Wetenkamp, Roy Howard, C. C. Barnard, W. G. and Herman Meisinger, W. S. Wetenkamp.
