A member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and Branch 54 Catholic Ladies Aide Society. Funeral services, Dec. 19, at 9:30 a.m. from the Ellis Olson Mortuary, 727 San Pablo Ave., Albany. Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, Berkeley. Rosary Monday evening, at 8 p.m. Committal services St. Joseph's Cemetery, San Pablo. Helen was a daughter of Joseph Bettencourt, a native of Portugal, and Isabell Machado, a native of Spain.

She was enumerated with her parents and siblings in North Kona on the big island of Hawaii in the 1900 US Census.

She was enumerated with two brothers, Henry and John, at Honolulu, Hawaii, in the 1910 US Census.

She married Richard Francis Murray in 1911.

They were enumerated at Oakland, California, in the 1920 US Census and at Albany, California, in the 1930, 1940, and 1950 US Censuses.
