William settled in what is now the town of Wallkill on the western portion of the 500 acre tract divided by the Wallkill River acquired by his father in 1724. William built his house in the high Ridge at Stony Ford.

The sons of William and Anne Booth actively espoused the rebel cause during the Revolution. However, both parents were spared the tragedy of having to choose sides since they both died before the conflict.
