Shirley Ann Fergerson Boatright Cyphers, age 88 passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at her son's home with Hospice.

Mrs. Shirley was a resident of Blackshear, Georgia, and a member of First Baptist Church of Blackshear.

Mrs. Shirley was born in Springfield, Missouri, on June 12, 1935. She was a 1952 graduate of Springfield High School, where she played the viola in the orchestra.

Mrs. Shirley married Leon L. Boatright and was blessed with 4 children. She lived in Wichita, Kansas, Warner Robins, and Waycross, before coming to Blackshear.

Mrs. Shirley volunteered for Senior Citizens Center, was the president of the Civilian Wives Club, and worked at Spiegal in sales.

She was a homemaker for most of her married life. Mrs. Shirley enjoyed bowling, playing cards with friends, reading, growing flowers, and singing in the church choir and city choir in Warner Robins. She lived at The White House Independent Care, where she would sing, pray, and minister with love to others.

Shirley was the daughter of the late Earl Sr. and Elsie Fergerson who preceded her in death. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Fern; and brothers, Don, Kenneth and Earl Jr. Fergerson ,of Springfield, Missouri. Shirley was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Leon L. Boatright; and sons, Leon Jr, Jeffrey Boatright, and George Cyphers of Warner Robins.

Shirley is survived by her sisters, Darlene Chaffin and Earlene Lofftus of Missouri; daughter, LuAnne (Bill) Barnett of Salem, Indiana; son, Steven (Donna) Boatright of Blackshear, Georgia; grandchildren, Ryan (Katrina) Bussone and Heather Bussone of Salem, Indiana, Margaret (Holden) West of Pisgah Forest, North Carolina, and Stephen (Dilcia) Boatright of Waycross, Georgia; as well as nine great-grandchildren, Alexis, Owen, Dawson, Bentley, Daylon, Ryker, Cyrus, Gian and Riley.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Magnolia Park Cemetery, where Shirley will be laid to rest.
