Cyrus B. Gonterman, 88, of 224 Rolfe Road, owner and oeprator of Gonterman Jewelers since 1919, died Jan 8, 1975, at his home.

He was born Jan. 28, 1886 in Edwardsville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. Gonterman. He married Wilna G. Anderson in DeKalb on June 27, 1914.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the White Shrine and the Sportsman Club. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge, AF and AM, 144.

He is survived by his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Phyllis) Wickness, Rochelle, Mrs. Orville (Dorace) Johnson, Rochelle, and Mrs. Robert (Bonnie) Abbott, DeKalb; a sister, Mrs. Nigel Mowry, Redmond, Wash.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and an infant daughter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Norman T. Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. tomorrow at the Ronan-Moore Mortuary and from 12:30-2 Saturday at the church.
