Mrs. Joan Lee Holt Shropshire, 79, passed away at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
She was born in Leaksville, NC, to the late Lonnie Lawrence Holt and Ruby Lee Carter Holt.
She first worked for Spray Cotton Mill and later for JP Stevens and Montgomery Ward.
She is survived by her son Charles Shropshire and fiancee', Melissa Smith of Climax, NC and her brother Melvin Holt of SC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Duke Shropshire and sister Rinda Wells.
A graveside service was held at Danview Cemetery in Eden, NC.
Fair Funeral Home in Eden served the Shropshire family.
