Rita Joyce Bolden, 94 of Irwin, formerly of Connellsville died Saturday February 4, 2023 in Mt. View Senior Living. She was born December 9, 1928 in Winchester, MD a daughter of the late Clemon C. and Nannie Murray Hare. Mrs. Bolden was a 1946 graduate of Meyersdale High School. She also attended Penn State Fayette and she was also a licensed real estate agent. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Connellsville Area Vocational Technical School for 30 years and she had 30 years of perfect audits. Joyce loved to travel, traveling all over the world and she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. She is survived by two children, Teresa Schlosser of Irwin and Kenneth J. Bolden, Jr. and his wife Gemma of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Jennifer Murray, Apryle Schlosser of Irwin, Lisa Trafficante and her husband Larry, Lenore Funk of York and Ian Bolden of Virginia Beach, VA; great grandchildren, Neil Funk of York, Erica Robison of York, and Leah and Emma Trafficante. and two sisters-in-law, Mary Agnes Bolden of North Carolina and Marjorie Jacob and her husband Vince of Somerset. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth J. Bolden; a daughter, Karen Bolden; brothers, Kyle and Robert Hare and sisters, Elva Gress and Alma Andrews. Family and friends will be received from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday, February 8, in the Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 111 E. Green St. Connellsville. A Blessing Service will be held on Thursday February 9, at 10:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church with Rev. Paul Lisik as celebrant.
