Terrell Adkins, age 84, of Ullin, Illinois, passed away at 9:37 P.M. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at his residence.

He was born on July 19, 1939 to John T. and Beatrice (Rainwater) Adkins in Ullin, Illinois. On November 7, 1964, he married the love of his life, Linda Flowers, and the spent of 43 years together, united in love until her passing in 2018.

Terrell worked in the construction business as a heavy equipment operator and loved his job that he spent nearly 50 years doing. He was a member of the Local 318 Operating Engineer Union. He also farmed. Terrell was a very active member of the community, particular with regards to working on the Ullin Fire Department for many years and he served as Fire Chief. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his family and watching Ancient Aliens. Terrell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ullin, which he helped build and was the official bell ringer while his health permitted.

Terrell is survived by his daughters, Renee Wright and Misty Adkins; 4 grandchildren, Alexa, Cierra, Dawson, and Davine; 1 great-grandchild, CJ; brother, Miles (Carolyn) Adkins; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Ali, Eric, Andy, and Sharon; and several great nieces and great nephews.

Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ferban Short and Shirley Law.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, Illinois with funeral Service at 6:00 P.M. with Rev. Clint Nale officiating.

A private inurnment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Mounds, Illinois.
