Beattyville - Coleman Abner, 49, of Beattyville Route 2, died at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday in the Lexington Veterans Administration Hospital after a long illness. He was a native of World War II and a member of the New Springs Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Trixie Abner; two sons, Gary Coleman and Arch Lewis Abner, at home; his mother, Mrs. Lewis Abner, Primrose; three brothers, Frank Abner, Primrose; Jim Abner, Lexington, and Sam Abner, Lake Oran, Mich.; two half-brothers, Gerald and Bethel Abner, Winchester and two sisters.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the New Springs Methodist Church by the Rev. Marvin Wheeler. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Bearers will be Walker Oliver, Clennie Hollan, W. P. Jones, Oval Gross, Judge Burt Combs, Arlie Noble, Charlie Tirey and Clyde Cornelius. The body is at the Newman Funeral Home.
