Leonard C. "Bud" Hossenlopp Jr.
December 8, 1950 – December 22, 2023

Born in Buffalo, NY to the late Leonard C. Hossenlopp & Marilyn Hossenlopp (Arlington). Leonard is preceded in death by his sister, Judith A. Fields (Hossenlopp), and brother-in-law, Ronald W. Fields. Survived by his brother, David Hossenlopp, three nephews; Jason Fields, Joshua (Christina) Fields, Jeremy (Lindsey) Fields, and many great nieces and nephews.
In his youth, he volunteered alongside his parents at the Cradle Beach Camp in Angola, NY empowering special needs and underserved youth.
He served as a Physical Therapist in the Bergen Co. Special Service School for many decades. He spent his entire career caring for special needs and handicapped children, and even aided in the development of specialized equipment to help them. In addition to his professional endeavors, Leonard played an active role in serving the Town of Lloyd community. He generously dedicated his time and ability to various boards, including the Environmental Conservation Council, showing his commitment to positively affecting others' lives. Leonard's contributions to these boards were invaluable, as he tirelessly worked to create a stronger and more vibrant community for everyone to enjoy.
For over 13 years, Leonard also gave his love and compassion for others to the local Jewish Camp in Highland where his selfless contributions, warmth and unwavering spirit left an indelible mark on every staff member and camper.
Leonard was a loyal and committed, long time member of The Gathering at Faith Assembly Church. He was a man of great faith and kept his trust in God through good times and bad. He was always the first to offer help to those in need and even supplied a free car service for anyone who needed a ride to church.
A gathering for family and friends will take place on Thursday January 4th, 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at The Gathering at Faith Assembly, 25 Golf Club Lane, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601, with service to follow 11:00am at the Church. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery of Lloyd in Highland. Arrangements by the Michael Torsone Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 38 Main St. Highland, NY 12528.
