Linda Holley Norman, age 80, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023.

Born July 26, 1943, in Chelsea, MA, she was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting "Mema."

In 1962, while living in Miami, she met the love of her life, Charles "Chuck" Norman, on a blind date. Three months later, she was married and starting a new life, far from the hustle and bustle, in Swannanoa. Their love story lasted more than 61 years - and resulted in three daughters. She instilled in her girls the importance of family, compassion, and doing what is right. She was a true role model.

Linda was warm, caring and gave the best hugs. She never met a stranger and was a fiercely loyal friend. She put the needs of her family and others before her own. Despite life's challenges, she remained optimistic, courageous, and resilient. She was a woman of strong faith and a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. She was a source of inspiration to all and will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Anna Rosenbloom Holley and Julian Holley.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Norman, brother, Julian Holley, Jr., daughters Sherri McRoberts (Chris), Terri Norman (Michael Clark) and Lauri Nichols (Barrett), and grandchildren Taylor McRoberts (Haley), Madison McRoberts, Dylan Nichols and Max Nichols.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at noon on December 29, 2023, at Penland Family Funeral Home, 125 South Ave. in Swannanoa. Friends and family are invited to join in love and remembrance. For those who wish to attend, a graveside ceremony will follow at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery chapel in Black Mountain.
