Funeral Services Are Held For Former Police Sergeant
Funeral services for Floyd S. Salser, 42, former Birmingham police sergeant, who died in a Dothan hospital yesterday of injuries received in automobile accident, were conducted in the Wylam Baptist Church today by the Rev Hugh L. Tully, assisted by the Rev. C. C. Wilcutt. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Ridout in charge.
Active pallbearers were R. L. McCain, C. W. Rochell, C. L. Mullins, R. M. Green, R. B. Tucker and C. C. Ray, and members of the Police Department and employees of the 7-Up Bottling Company, honorary pallbearers.
Surviving are the widow; a son, F. S. Salser, Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Keith Rhodes, Dothan; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Salser, Wylam; two brothers, Earl B. and John Salser, Birmingham, and four sisters, Mrs. Ernest Chalmers, Mrs. Ruth Macon, Mrs. Blanche Buchanan and Mrs. Ed Graves, all of Birmingham.
Mr. Salser was a member of the Police Department 11 years, resigning in 1935 to take the position of district manager at Dothan of the 7-Up Bottling Company."
